APC’s Ortom wins in Benue

The All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr. Samuel Ortom has so far scored a total of 394, 047 vote in 22 local government areas in the Benue state gubernatorial election.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Terhemen Tarzoor polled a total of 302, 324 votes in the results announced by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Only Buruku local government area result is now being expected for the winner to be declared by INEC.
The APC is 91,723 votes ahead of the PDP and it is evident that the difference cannot be covered by the losing PDP with the remaining local government result expected as from 10pm.
Eight parties contested the election in Benue.
They include: Williams Ligom of Labour Party, Caleb Ugiringa Aba of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Odeh Helen of NNPP, Ogolekwu Shadrack stood on the platform of APA and Barr. Bo fiancé Umele on the platform of ACPN as well as Pastor Samuel Gar of Social Democratic Party.
