The Zamfara State Chairman of the National Assembly Primary Election Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Auwal Abdullahi Aliyu has distanced his committee from any political camps in the state, assuring aspirants of a level playing field.
He also promised party members a free, fair, and credible primary election ahead of the scheduled exercise today.
Briefing journalists in Gusau, Auwal said in line with the directive of the party’s national headquarters the committee will ensure prudent and Transparent National Assembly primary elections.
Auwal called for the cooperation and support of the aspirants and their supporters, urging them to conduct themselves in an orderly manner.
He said the committee will produce a credible, rancour-free, and acceptable primary election that all aspirants and stakeholders will be proud of.
“We will work within the ambit of the law, we didn’t belong to any camps, We will not allow our mandate to be influenced by anyone as justice and fairness for every aspirant is what we will deliver” Auwal said.
Auwal attributed the rescheduling of the state primaries to the ongoing consultations among key political stakeholders in the state, saying “If consensus fails, the committee would proceed with the primary election as planned.
