APC’s Jime leads in 7 LGA’s in Benue Guber race

APC’s Jime leads in 7 LGA’s in Benue Guber race

Mr Emmanuel Jime, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Benue, has won in seven of 11 Local Government Areas so far declared by INEC in Makurdi.

The results announced by INEC collation Officers on Sunday in Makurdi, showed Jime leading in Ogbadibo, Oju, Obi, Apa, Ohimini, Tarka and Otukpo Local Government Areas.

Incumbent Gov. Samuel Ortom of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is trailing behind in Gwer East, Gwer West, Agatu and Ushongo LGA’s.

The breakdown of the results showed that in Otukpo LGA, APC polled 21,530 votes, PDP scored 12,903 votes, APGA had 1,714 votes, while the PRP scored 90 votes.

In Apa LGA, the APC candidate polled 8,460 votes to win the local government, APGA had 04 votes, PDP polled 8,429 votes while PRP had 206 votes.

The results in Agatu showed that APC polled 7,538 votes, APGA got 06 votes, PDP polled 9,935 votes to win the local government while PRP got 04 votes.

The APC candidate also polled 8,470 in Ohimini local government to win, APGA scored 327 votes , the PDP won 7,304 votes while PRP had 171 votes.

In Tarka LGA, the hometown of Sen George Akume, APC polled 16,919 votes to win, APGA had 02 votes , the PDP polled 2,975 votes while PRP got 465 votes while in Ushongo, the APC won 14, 589 votes, APGA had 152 votes, the PDP polled 22,351 votes to win.

Others were, Oju LGA, where Jime scored 19,061 votes to defeat Ortom who polled 13110 votes, the PRP got 72 votes while APGA polled 172 votes.

In Obi LGA, the APC candidate polled 9,696 votes, his PDP counterpart polled 9,055 votes , the PRP has 19 votes while APGA scored 174 votes

The PDP candidate polled 9,018 votes in Ogbadibo LGA, APC had 8,515, the PRP polled 08 votes while the Advanced Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) won 03 votes.

The results in Gwer West LGA showed that APC polled 7,292 while PDP garnered 14,375 votes, PRP had 744 and APGA 15 votes.

In Gwer East LGA, the APC scored 14,582 votes as against PDP’s 19,596 votes, PRP had 142 votes while APGA won 04 votes.(NAN)
