Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State
Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has expressed satisfaction with the judgment of the appeal court, saying it has gladdened his heart and will make him to be more focused on driving the state forward.
Speaking with newsmen over his victory at the appeal court, Masari said, “I thank God. You cannot predict courts and so when it came out that there was unanimous agreement by the judges I was happy and relieved.”
According to him, no matter how sure one was, with courts it’s unpredictable, adding that “this victory is for all Katsina people that came out and voted for us.”
On the appeal to the Supreme Court by the PDP, Masari said “going there will not alter our plans or alter our attention to do what is necessary. We are ready to defend ourselves there also.”
It could be recalled that the PDP, not satisfied with the election tribunal judgement, approached the Court of Appeal which upheld the lower court’s decision.
PDP has already said it will further challenge the appeal court decision at the Supreme Court.
