Appeal to Bauchi governor

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State

Dear Sir,

With due respect and every sense of humility, I write on behalf of Bauchi State indigenes under your kind authority to pay the outstanding salaries of staff who were not paid for three consecutive months. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, their situation is even more worrisome.

Apart from the new pandemic and high prices of goods, most of the affected staff don’t have other means of livelihood but their salaried employment. We all know it is not your wish and you’re struggling to recover from the disruptions caused by the covid-19 pandemic. Working Nigerians in towns, cities and villages depend on their wages or salaries to survive. So the non-payment is a threat to the lives of Bauchi State workers and is trying to take away their human dignity.

Also, our businessmen and women who are into contract are heavily hit by the non-payment of salaries to workers.

We are urging you, Sir, to come to their aid. These unpaid staff need you and you have said human development is the first priority in human life. We have no doubt that you will move Bauchi State and her people forward; your commitment in other sectors is commendable.

God bless Bauchi State and may He Almighty give you the wisdom to act in the right directions as you discharge your duties.
