An Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State on Tuesday remanded a 27-year-old apprentice for allegedly beating and injuring three students with stick.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, said that the recuperation of the students namely Ranti Olalekan, Toyin Adesua and Bode Alfred, who sustained various degrees of injuries, would determine the bail conditions of the accused.

Ogunfuyi adjourned the case until Sept. 21 for further hearing.

The accused, Sunday Akinbi, of no fixed address, was arraigned on a two-count charge of felony and unlawful assault. He, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Ayodeji Omoyeigha, had told the court that the accused and four others at large, on Sept. 5 about 10:00 pm at Agbala Onibele Street, Igbodigo, Okitipupa, assaulted the complainants by beating them to pulp with stick.

Omoyeigha said that the accused and others at large, had an argument with the students which led to a fight.

He said the three students sustained various degrees of injuries during the fight. (NAN)
