Farin Ruwa is what could be described as the climax of all waterfalls in Nasarawa State. It is located in Wamba Local Government Area of the state, where the waterfall borders between the boundary of Nasarawa and Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Towering at 150 kilometers with a width stretching across 50 metres, Farin Ruwa waterfall is located at about one hundred and twenty kilometres from the state’s capital, Lafia.

Exuding intimidating magnificence, the waterfalls is a major tourist site for visitors to the state and residents alike.

Living up to accolades that have gone ahead of her, the name Farin Ruwa is a Hausa word which literarily translates to ‘white water’. From metres away from the site, the wealth of the white water  could be described as smoky which legend says is the source of its name.As one gets closer, it cascades into forceful falls into the River Arikiya and the River Wamba from its source.

Beyond the Farin Ruwa Waterfall are other attractions which include hills, springs, caves, lakes and mountains and are also a must see for all who go there.

Gaming at Pandam Game Reserve

‘The Home of Peace and Tourism’ is home to one of Nigeria’s tourist sites, the Pandam Game Reserve.

Like other game reserves, it is a wildlife sanctuary which houses crocodiles, hippopotami, other reptiles and wild animals as well as the jelly fish which on the contrary does not leave only in salty waters.

With the local park rangers tracking local game on foot as well as guiding visitors around best view spots the Game Reserve could be described as unspoiled by human contact. It offers sports fishing facilities and tourist accommodation is available.

Pategi Beach, Kwara State
