This was made known by the out-going chairman of the NIA, Abuja Chapter, Arc. Stanley Kolo during the chapter’s Biannual General Meeting and 30th Anniversary recently in Abuja.
With the theme, Architecture & Contemporary Challenges III, the professional body of architects elected new executives and officers specifically mandated to improve education, security and tackle concerns in the country.
Kolo urged members of the NIA and all practising architects, builders and developers to patronize local products which meet international standards.
“It’s on this note that we in NIA Abuja have conferred Special Recognition Award on West African Ceramics in recognition of its outstanding contribution to architectural practice and commitment to the development of the building industry,” he stated.
Receiving the award, Council Member, Commonwealth Association of Architects, Bhaskar Rao who is General Manager, West African Ceramics Ltd thanked the body of architects for recognizing the contributions of the company over the years.
He said that, the company considers architects and builders as strategic partners to drive positive development in the industry and support the local content policy.
