Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has said his administration would create the right environment to improve the wellbeing of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). He also promised to reward selfless service by dedicated corps members.
Aregbesola said this at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede during the closing ceremony of the orientation programme for 2,404 corps members of the 2015 Batch ‘B’ (stream two), comprising of 972 female and 1,432 males.
The governor, who was represented by the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Special Need, Dr. Akinyinka Esho, urged the corps members to serve the nation with dedication and make positive impact in the various communities they were posted to.
 “I want to assure you that our government will not relent in its efforts at addressing your welfare needs and ensuring your safety wherever you are posted. Also, we shall reward excellence and selfless service by corps members. I urge you to pay special attention to the development of your host communities by identifying viable projects that will positively impact on the lives of our people and leave lasting legacies for posterity,” he said.
The state coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Regina Iluebby, also urged the corps members to shun bad practices, obey the law and respect the tradition of the people.
