Aregbesola pays N700m as CSDP counterpart fund

The Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has so far paid N700 million as counterpart fund for the Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) in the state.

The General Manager of the CSDP in Osun State, Mrs Funmi Aderonke Abokede, disclosed this in a chat with Eko Trust in Osogbo, capital of Osun State.

Abokede explained that the governor has always been paying the state’s counterpart fund, adding he had paid N150m this year, bringing to a total of N700m that he had paid since the inception of his administration.

She said the governor’s prompt payment of the counterpart fund has enabled the people of the state to benefit immensely from CSDP projects.

Also, the National Coordinator of the CSDP, Dr Abdulkarim Obaje, tasked government at all levels to adopt the community-driven development model in the rural areas across the country.

Obaje expressed the need for the people of the communities to take ownership of projects in their communities serious to ensure the sustainability of such projects.

He called for the institutionalisation of the community-driven development model in the country, adding that the CSDP had completed over 11,000 micro projects in rural areas across the country.
