A youth political group, ‘Arewa 19 Pyramid for Grassroots Development,’ has declared support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima joint ticket for 2027 election.
Leader of the group, Comrade Ahmed Abdulraheem, made the declaration while addressing journalists at the weekend in Gombe.
He described the Tinubu/Shettima joint ticket as a symbol of political stability, national inclusion, and competent leadership.
According to him, those agitating for Shettima’s replacement as vice president are playing divisive politics, which can overheat the polity and cause problems for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Comrade Abdulraheem added that the Tinubu-Shettima ticket is in the best interest of the party and the country.
He said, “We gather here today not just as concerned citizens, but as committed stakeholders in the future of our region and our nation. This is a defining moment, a time to set aside distractions and firmly support the leadership steering our country toward progress.”
He added that Vice President Shettima is a strategic thinker and a unifying figure whose contributions to the APC were instrumental before, during, and after the 2023 elections.
The group warned that undermining Shettima is not just an affront to the North; “it is a disservice to the nation.”
Abdulraheem decried the growing political speculations aimed at discrediting Shettima and called on senior APC members and political actors to close ranks and focus on delivery. “The time for electoral politics will come, but the present moment demands unity and service to the people.”
He, therefore, called on political stakeholders to shun divisive narratives and focus on governance.
He explained that the ‘Arewa 19 Pyramid’ is a group committed to youth empowerment, civic engagement, and inclusive development.
He pledged their continued support to the Tinubu-Shettima administration in building a secure and prosperous Nigeria.
