An Argentine, Bettoli Juan Ignacio, has been crushed by a car on the Abuja Niger road in Tungan Usman village near Old Gawu in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.
A witness, identified simply as Ibrahim, said the incident happened last Thursday around 1pm when a Volkswagen Golf with registration number, FST 491 EZ, crashed into the Argentine.
He said the driver, who was conveying passengers from neighbouring Kacha to Dikko in Niger State, lost control and overran the bicycle.
He said the victim was rescued by police operatives from the Yaba Division and taken to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) where doctors confirmed him dead.

The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Benneth Igweh, who confirmed the incident, said the corpse had been deposited at UATH.
He said both the vehicle and the bicycle, as well as the deceased’s international passport, identity card and other documents recovered at the scene, were with the police.
