All of a sudden, Wamakko is threatening the workers that if they are to be paid, they must return to work. Why didn’t he tell them that during his last visit? He had told the workers that the month of May which has since passed, is NNN workers’ month, meaning that it is the month in which they will be paid. That is one more lie to the heaps of lies Northern Governors Forum have been piling up on the company and the impoverished staff whose population is fast being depleted as a result of hunger and illnesses.

From Wamakko’s latest action, northern governors have shown their contempt for the NNN workers and their fellow retirees – pensioners and those disengaged and are awaiting their benefits. Wamakko’s action shows that NNN workers don’t have a say in what affects them even when their rights had been grossly abused by both the Federal and Northern Governors Forum.

As children of NNN pensioners, our parents are dying owing to the poverty so imposed on them by Wamakko and his colleagues. The latest death is that of Baba Alhaji Umaru Balanga, who until his death has been ill on hospital bed. The 84-year-old late Baba Balanga, like his other surviving colleagues, is being owed more than five years of pension arrears. We cannot go to school nor feed due to no faults of our parents. One of the interesting things about the whole episode is that we shall all stand before Allah and account for our deeds.
