The deceased, Jonah said to be a successful building materials dealer in Naka after he initially ventured into sole business as a barber in 1994, met his death in the hands of the evil men around 2am on Sunday.
A resident told our correspondent that the late Jonah popularly referred to as Salaco was killed at his house by the robbers who forcefully gained entrance while they shot sporadically.
The resident said the armed robbers scaled the fence before they could force themselves into their victim’s house during which process they killed the businessman.
Chairman of Gwer West LGA, Grace Igbabon, however, told newsmen in Makurdi that the suspected robber shot dead was a son of a pastor and that his gang were known cultists recently terrorising the Makurdi-Naka-Adoka road.
Contacted, the Police Spokesperson for Benue Command, SP Catherine Anene, said she was yet to receive any information about the incident.
