Armed robbery: Court fixes date for trial of 2 policemen, soldier

A Lagos High Court has fixed March 9 for the trial of two policemen and a dismissed soldier who were alleged to have robbed members of the public while armed with guns.

The two policemen are Sgt. Mark Agbo and Sgt  Alechenu Benedict while the dismissed soldier is Usman Salawu.

The trio are standing a joint criminal trial for conspiracy and armed robbery before Justice Coker sitting at the Ikeja High Court.

According to the prosecution, the suspects sometime in November, 2018 at about 11:30pm along Bolade Junction, Oshodi, Lagos, committed the robbery.

It was alleged that while armed with K2 rifle and live ammunition, the accused persons robbed one Jalane Umar of his motorcycle with Reg No. MEK 845 VN valued at N350,000.

Further hearing has been adjourned till March 9 for continuation of trial.
