Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero stated this while commissioning a modern comprehensive science and technology laboratories built for the secondary school by AFCSC.
Represented by the Commissioner for Education, Ibrahim Ali, the Governor said the resolve of his government to equip and partner with the military school was informed by the contribution of the school to education of children in the host communities.
He commended the Commandant of the college, Air-Vice Marshal John Chris Ifemeje, for constructing the modern laboratories.
He said: “We are also going to consider your school in our teachers’ development training programme. This is necessary because we have realised that it is one thing to understand a subject matter, but it is another to be able to impart it on the students.”  
Earlier, AVM Ifemeje said education was the best tool for bringing positive changes to the society, adding that fact informed the decision of the college management to embark on the project for the educational development of the children.
He noted that the school, primarily built to cater for children of military personnel in the Jaji cantonment, now has children from the host community in the majority.
The laboratories commissioned included Food and Nutrition, Chemistry, Physics, Technical Drawing and Biology labs and Art Studio.
Commander of the school, Lieutenant-Commander Esther Adeola Alalade, requested for more classrooms, saying that the school was witnessing growth in the number of students.
