The Nigerian Army has deployed the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3rd Division, Major General Eyitayo Foluso Oyinlola, to oversee intensified operations against bandits in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
The deployment followed directives from the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, after deadly attacks displaced residents of Mansur, Futuk, Digare and Gwana communities.
Major General Oyinlola, who briefed Governor Bala Mohammed at the Government House, assured that both kinetic and non-kinetic strategies were being implemented to restore normalcy.
He said troops had intensified clearance operations, enhanced surveillance in flashpoints and strengthened collaboration with other security agencies.

He added that intelligence-driven efforts were ongoing to dismantle criminal hideouts and disrupt armed groups operating in the area.

Additional manpower and logistics have also been mobilized to sustain security presence, he added.

He pledged the state government’s continued support through community engagement and broader socio-economic interventions to address the root causes of insecurity.
