The Nigerian Army troops of 8 Division Garrison Strike Force, operating under Operation Fansan Yamma (OPFY) Sector 2, have killed six terrorists in Zamfara State.

A statement by the information officer of OPFY, Captain David Adewusi, said the recent offensive operations have resulted in the neutralisation of 6 terrorists, the recovery of arms and ammunition.

“The operations destroyed terrorist infrastructure and led to the successful rescue of a kidnapped underage victim (identified as Halira Ibrahim).

“The offensive commenced with a targeted engagement at Indulumu village of Maradun Local Government Area, where gallant troops confronted and neutralised two terrorists”, the statement said.

Adewusi also said that the intense firefight led the troops to recover one AK-47 rifle and disrupt the terrorists’ operational capabilities.

The statement added that the operations further pushed forward to Ruduno village, where the troops encountered further resistance.
