A combined team of the army and police in Taraba has killed 10 suspected bandits.

The team also arrested one Michael Gwani who claimed to be Bachama in possession of an AK47 rifle.

The corpses of the bandits were paraded at the Taraba command of the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday. 

The state police spokesman, David Misal, said the bandits were using border area in Taraba State to launch attacks in neighbouring Adamawa state.

He said the bandits were intercepted in Taraba and a shootout ensued which resulted in the killing of 10 of them.

In a related development, 10 persons have been killed by gunmen in Ussa LGA in Taraba State.

The police public relations officer, Taraba command, ASP David Misal, disclosed that a surveillance helicopter has already been deployed to the area on a surveillance mission to check activities of the bandits.
