The play centres on the quest of the women of Toru-Ama to take their place in society. The play also touches on domestic violence, women in politics and the rights of women in society.

The event featured readings from the play, questions and answers sessions and book signings by the playwright, Dr Ayakoroma, who is also the Executive Secretary of the National Institute for Cultural Orientation, NICO.

The playwright expressed delight at the reception the play has received adding that he wanted people to realise the power of women as agents of change in society.

The event had in attendance arts enthusiasts and many other dignitaries from all walks of life.

The next edition of the play reading party will return in February with Ahmed Yerima’s “Kafir’s Last Game.”
