The PPRO also informed of the arrest of a suspected serial Facebook scammer, David Maduabuchi in Onitsha.
Maduabuchi, 22, of No 16 Chukwu Onovo street Okpoko, Onitsha was arrested by the command, for allegedly swindling vulnerable youngsters, particularly teenage girls on Facebook and hoodwinking them into stealing from their parents and guardian for him.
He said preliminary investigation revealed that between the months of March, 2019 and November, 2019, the suspect lured one Ogechi Miracle and Chinansa Peter, both 18 years, on Facebook under false pretences of marrying them.
He stated that the suspect tutored his victims and both girls stole N318,000 and N100,000 respectively at different times from their parents.
The PPRO added that the girls also handed their laptop computers to the suspect.
He further stated that the case is still under investigation after which the suspect would be charged to court.
In another development, the PPRO said the command on November 18 at about 4:pm, following intelligence report, recovered a Lexus 330 Jeep, Reg No AKL 189 NH, allegedly snatched at gunpoint from one Anselm Enwereji sometime in December, 2018 at Ajangbadi, Lagos State.
He said two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case and they have made useful statements to the police.
He added that on November 19, the command also recovered a Toyota Hiaice bus allegedly stolen from the premises of Osun State Board of Internal Revenue
He said the bus which was formerly white in colour has been repainted and registered with Onitsha South LGA of Anambra State.
One suspect was arrested in possession of the vehicle and case is under investigation, he added.
