Speaking at the forum which attracted many artisans, the Coordinator of BCPG, Engr Nnamdi Agbim, stressed that it is to educate artisans on the importance of adherence to standards and codes of practice.
He said that strict compliance to code of practice by artisans will help in preventing loss of lives, investments and resources caused by building collapse in the country.
He said:  “As stakeholders, the forum was also designed to engage with the artisans, identify the challenges they face, exchange ideas on how to partner towards promoting the growth of the association technically, commercially and on safety issues.”
Engr Agbim advised the artisans to develop a culture of requesting written instruction or approval when mix-ratios conflict with acceptable codes of practice.
The Chairman of the Ikoyi-Obalende Concrete Artisans, Mr Vincent Dagbe, expressed appreciation on behalf of the members and called on BCPG to organise more of such forum to reach out to artisans spread across the state.
