Munir noted that the immigration had been collaborating with the Yobe State Pilgrims Commission to ensure that pilgrims from the state got all the necessary documents needed to guarantee their journey to the holy land without stress.

“There are many months away from the pilgrimage but we realized that it would be good to start preparation in earnest so as to avoid last-minute hitches and confusion”.

Munir noted that e-passport was the internationally recognised passport for travelling abroad adding that the Immigration service has acquired all the technical and man power it need to accelerate the acquisition of the passports by intending travellers.

Our correspondent reports that about 3,000 Muslim pilgrims are expected to perform this year’s hajj from Yobe State.
