As Abdulrahman becomes Wakili Arewa Nupe

The Nupe Kingdom will today witness an array of entourage as the Shaba Nupe, Alhaji Manko Abdullahi, will lead other traditional title holders to pay royal homage to the Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr)Yahaya Abubakar, for the titles bestowed on them by the royal father.
Among those who will pay homage is an illustrious son of the soil, Hussaini Abdulrahman, the new Wakili Arewa Nupe (DANIYAN).

He is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of AK Global Concepts Limited, an Abuja-based Management and Media Consultancy firm, publisher of Inclusion Magazine.
His ascension to the traditional title last year came after the untimely death of their eldest brother, QS Saidu Minin Abdulrahman.
His other elder brother, Abubakar Wachiko Abdulrahman, a director in the Ministry of Police Affairs, is the Dan Amar Nupe.
Hussaini Abdulrahman is a prince and member of the Masaba Palace, one of the three ruling houses of the Nupe Kingdom of Bida Emirate.
He was born in the late 60s to late Malam Mahmud Kpako (Yabanki) and Mrs Zainab Mahmud Kpako (Hajiya Yogoyye) in Bida.
His late father Yabanki, as he was popularly called, was a bank manager with the Union Bank, in the early 80s. Yabanki was the eldest son of late Shaba Abdulrahman who was the elder brother of the 10th Etsu Nupe – late Etsu Usman Sarki.
Their late father was Etsu Saidu Dan Mamudu, the 8th Etsu Nupe who was the son of Shaba Mamudu, son of Etsu Masaba, the 2nd Etsu Nupe of blessed memory.
His paternal aunt, Mrs Hauwa Umaru Sanda Ndayako (Hajiya Katsachi) who was the first wife of the late 12th Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Umaru Sanda Ndayako, is the Niwoye Nupe.
Abdulrahman attended Masaba Primary School Bida, and proceeded to Government Secondary School Suleja, where he obtained his O’Level certificates. He gained admission into the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa for his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in Accountancy.
Among his secondary school mates is the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS), Muhammad Mamman Nami. Coincidentally, their wives are cousins.
To acquire additional knowledge in his chosen career, he proceeded to the Bayero University Kano for his PGDM and Masters Degree Programme in Business Administration (MBA).
Hussaini Abdulrahman was recently given the prestigious award of Fellow Certified National Accountant (FCNA) by the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
He has attended several seminars, workshops and conferences both locally and internationally that has added value to the society.
A philanthropist by nature and one who is drawn to the plight of the less privilege, he is a member of the Board of Trustee of the Hakima Foundation, an NGO that caters for the needs of women and orphans.
He is a media mogul with about two decades of working experiences in the media industry.
His romance with the media commenced with the Leadership Newspapers where he spent five years working in various capacities. He developed the business strategy and finance of the company, and coordinated the maiden edition of the Leadership conferences, titled, “De-industrialization of Northern Nigeria, which way out’, which was largely attended by over 1000 participants and earned him the respect and accolade of the chairman, late Sam Nda-Isaiah.
He then proceeded to the Peoples Daily Newspapers as the Head of the Business Development Department where he was saddled with the responsibility of overhauling the business unit. Under his administration, the paper wore a new look. He spent over six years with the Peoples Daily Newspapers.
He later joined the Daily Trust Newspapers as Head of Special Project/Conferences and Events/Commercial Printing. One of the events he coordinated was the First President Muhammadu Buhari Golf Tournament which held across the six geographic zones with the finals taking place at the prestigious IBB Golf and Country Club, Maitama, Abuja.
The tournament played host to traditional rulers, captains of industries, military officers (both serving and retired) professional golfers and media executives.
The chairman of the Daily Trust Newspapers, Malam Kabiru Yusuf, and the former Managing Director, Alhaji Isiaq Ajibola, played in the tournament.
He also executed the annual Agriculture Conferences and Exhibition, hosting over 1000 stakeholders and resulting into partnerships with some state governments.
He coordinated and executed successfully, a workshop with the prestigious National Institute of Policy and Strategy Studies (NIPSS) on local government with over 500 participants in attendance discussing issues surrounding local government autonomy.
Hussaini Abdulrahman branched out and established AK Global Concept Limited, a management and media consultancy firm which also engages in printing. The firm will soon commence publication of Inclusion, a magazine for persons living with disabilities and already has a functional website, www.inclusion.com.ng
Hussaini Abdulrahman intends to reciprocate the grand gesture bestowed on his family by the Estu Nupe, Alhaji Dr Yahaya Abubakar, by empowering the less privileged through skill acquisition, provision of scholarships, rehabilitating schools among others, to uplift the welfare of his people.
A close associate, Alhaji Mahmoud Sheikh Mohammed, Manager/head PPMC Gombe, excited about the turbanning had this to say, “the Wakili Arewa Nupe has been in existence for a long time, but with the turbanning of my friend and brother, the people of Nupe should expect to see an advancement and promotion of cultural heritage in Nupe Kingdom because of the person of the holder.”
His twin sister, Mrs Ramatu Hassana Ndayako, a civil servant working in the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, said, “this is a positive step forward and we give Glory to God, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah”.
A childhood friend and Chief Internal Auditor INEC, Niger State, Alhaji Waziri Ibrahim, described the title as an honour given to a respectable member of the society who can represent the Emir in any capacity.
His words, “Having such an honourable friend also earns me respect because of the saying; show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.”
His lovely wife, Mrs Ramatu Hussaini Abdulrahman, said she is quite elated by the honour and prays that Allah continues to protect him all the time as he carries out his duty as the Wakili Arewa Nupe.
Prior to his turbaning, many people would attest to his nature. He is said to be God fearing and religious, pious, kind, generous, empathic, intuitive and very innovative.
He is also creative, passionate, humble, accommodating and a lover of people. A good listener and a responsible man.
His staff describes him as a man of his words who runs an open-door policy. “He’s a man of honesty and integrity, a courageous man who fights for what he believes in.
“He has a way of making people comfortable with him as he personally goes out of his way to assist those in need.”
Apart from paying the school fees of children of late friends, he contributes to every activity that would impact positively on the lives of people.
He is married to Mrs. Ramatu Hussaini Abdurahman and blessed with children.
