The water facility which was commissioned last Friday was part of the humanitarian efforts of the organization to provide potable water to rural people.

According to Rev. John Kalma, the National Director of Operation Blessing, “The provision of a borehole water facility in this village is to further strengthen the inroad of the gospel to the residents.

“The residents of this village have been forced to drink water from dirty ponds for a long time which has brought about many water borne diseases among them.”

Filled with appreciation, the village head, Danjuma Adi expressed satisfaction and gratitude to the organization for coming to their rescue. According to him, “My people have been fetching water from this pond which is always polluted with urine from cattle and other livestock. But now, we can have good drinking water and be free from all forms of diseases.”

Commenting on the significance of the project, Felix Osamoje, who is Regional Director of CBN Africa, explained, “Operation Blessing is the humanitarian arm of the CBN Africa.

“It is involved in a lot of humanitarian projects like living water well which we came here to commission in this village.

“We go to rural communities where potable water facilities are lacking. We have done over 300 of such projects in Nigeria.

“We also engage in the provision of free medical services. We are also setting up rural clinics to take care of the health needs of the villagers.

“This is important to us because, we are of the opinion that the people’s wellbeing has a long role to play in their relationship with God.”

The CBN Africa has produced religious programmes like the 700 Club, Turning Point anchored by Victor Oladokun, One Cubed, a youth music programme amongst others.

Osamoje said, “We believe that television watching should be a family event. So all our programmes are family oriented and they contribute to the development of the family.

“We get funding from individuals and other corporate organizations.  Funding of what we do comes from Nigerians and we give them quarterly reports.

“We also sponsor corrective surgery for cleft lip children in the general hospital in Jos. We also engage in women empowerment projects especially the widows who are the most vulnerable,” Osamoje enumerated.
