As Emir of Zazzau celebrates 45th year on the throne

The 18th Emir of the city of ZAZZAU, Alhaji Dr SHEHU IDRIS, on Tuesday February 8th, marked his 42nd anniversary as the 18th Emir of Zazzau. He has, however, imposed many changes on the Emirate; accommodated various ethnic groups, enrolled significant number of people in schools and skill advancement for indigenes and non-indigenous Zaria based group, maintained and created more districts, villages, effective and efficient headship by his songs, grand songs and descendants. There are many great groups of an individual that took a part in these achievements of Balaraben Sarki! Dan idrisu Autan Sambo.

Forty years in the life of a person is not to be taken for granted, especially when it is spent as an inspired leader of a very unique and complex  miniature of Nigeria like Kaduna.

By historical antecedents, Zazzau Emirate serves as the nucleus of Northern Nigeria with its headquarters in Kaduna. Its cosmopolitan nature in diverse cultures and religions provide evidence of the accommodating nature of the people. Until recently when intolerance and sectarian violence set in, Zazzau Emirate was a heaven for all. This comes as a result of liberal traditional leadership provided by His Highness,  Alhaji Shehu Idris.

His penchant for peaceful coexistence and pursuit of knowledge provided the followership with awareness of the virtues of neighbourliness, accommodation and forgiveness which entice people from all walks of life to earn and find solace in the Emirate.

The Emirate has witnessed tremendous amount of development in terms of education as the emir of ZAZZAU, being the land lord of various institutions that uplift different personalities in Nigeria and the neighbouring countries in Western and especially Islamic for which it has been known.

Perhaps, the Emirate is blessed with abundant agricultural land that in terms of food supplies and cheap prices, it is second to none. T

The hallmark of the Emir‘s investment in education, peace, security and development has triumphed into an appreciated and envious level. The dynamic nature of peace and loving environment give a chance to many migrants to stay and in the city as a home for all.

During his time, the Emirate has witnessed structural changes in which some  local governments were curved out as independent traditional councils  but that is not to demean the prestige and royalty of the Emir or the Emirate. Rather, it boosts his influence.

I wish the Emir and the Emirate more blissful and prosperous years ahead.

Allah Ya ja Zamanin sarki

Allah Ya Kara wa sarki da talakawansa lafia da zama lafia.
