The incumbent Chairmen of Kuje, Abaji and Gwagwalada area councils have picked APC tickets for re-election in 2019.

Abdullahi D. Galadima, the incumbent Chairman of Kuje, was declared winner of the party’s chairmanship primary in the area, having polled 234 votes to defeat his opponent, Hamidu Sarki Gauke, who got 10 votes.

The Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Barr. Salihu Musa, who declared the result amid tight security at Kayarda Primary School, venue of the election, said the primary was free and fair.

In Abaji, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya was declared winner having emerged unopposed since the national screening committee of the party disqualified his opponent, Gimba Salihu Bako.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mr. Sanrara Therman, said, “Having gone through the report before me as the chairman of the electoral committee and the returning officer, I found out that the national body of the screening committee had already disqualified the second aspirant. To this end, the incumbent Chairman, Ajiya, is hereby declared winner of this election.

The incumbent Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, was also announced the winner of the party’s chairmanship primary in the area.

The Chief Returning Officer in the election, Mr. Victor Oshoke, said the incumbent chairman polled 256 votes, while a former chairman of the council, Abubakar Jibrin Giri, got 50 votes.

Also, Mr. Danladi Bomboi Chiya has emerged winner of the party’s chairmanship primary for Kwali Area Council.

Chiya, scored 126 votes to defeat the incumbent Vice Chairman of the council, Alhaji Zubairu Jibrin Yewuti,, who got 93 votes.
