As Mrs. Nenadi Usman joins Senatorial race

Today, she has joined the race to the Senate which to us is a welcome development. It is not just another woman politician on the bit. With her disposition as an achiever, the former Minister believes that the rural setting where she is equally resident – Jere – which has suffered gross neglect needed to be developed to stem the tide of rural-urban drift. With her campaign issues-based, the senatorial aspirant has declared her intention to pursue legislation on education, health, rural transformation, micro-economy, among others, so that every Nigerian would benefit.

As a woman, she has refused to be dragged only on the line of gender issues, even at that the former Minister is very sensitive of feminine issues affecting women especially widows in southern Kaduna and the state as a whole. She has rendered selfless service and assistance in education, health, micro-economy to some women groups as well as granting scholarship to indigent students.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) upon which she intends to realize her dreams must not fail the people by playing to the gallery. Soon, there would be primaries to pick the party’s respective candidates. Sentiments and emotion must be put in check and merit allowed, as well as fair play, to carry the day. It is by this kind of level playing ground that aspirants like Mrs. Usman, who does not have thugs like the other aspirants, would perform well electorally. Let us give her a chance. she has what it takes to deliver.
