Armed thugs on Tuesday, attacked Tewure community, Orire local government, Ogbomosho area of Oyo State over a land and chieftaincy disputes.
The thugs were allegedly sponsored by a political leader in the area who supported another traditional leader against the incumbent.

The monarch in the area, Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ile, Oba Abdul-Yekeen Oladipupo, who confirmed the attack on the residents, said some of his chiefs were also attacked during the unfortunate incident.
Onikoyi called on the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to intervene while urging the release of seven residents who were arrested during the attack.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo Police Command, SP Gbenga Fadeyi, said he did not have details on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
