A statement signed by TUC President Comrade Bala Bobboi Kaigama called on Nigerians, “especially the Muslims, to make necessary commitment to our dear nation by seeing every Nigerian irrespective of their religious orientation as brothers and sisters. This is because it is the only way the country can move forward.  This is the time to show love for one another taking into cognizance the fact that we all have a challenge. This is the time for us as a country to submit ourselves to the will of Allah in the belief that only Him can help to overcome the challenges no matter how difficult they may appear at the moment.”
The TUC urged labour leaders to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice for others and be willing to fulfill promises and to implement agreements.
“One of the things fasting does is that it humbles you and helps check acts of ungodliness. But rather unfortunately what we have had over the years is that people take the garb of sainthood during fasting but become otherwise on its completion. The leadership of our dear country and politicians have a lot to learn here. This is the period our words and deeds must correlate,” he added.
