The ace singer who graced the December 2011 edition of Brazil’s Elle Magazine cover ‘Elle Brazil’ is one of the three Nigerians mentioned on the list which include Nigerian-German singer, Nnneka and the multiple award-winning pop-artiste, 2Face Idibia who are in third and fourth places respectively.

Criteria for which the selections were made were based on fame, fan base and the number of concerts the artistes have performed around the world.

Other artistes on the list are Somalia’s K’Naan second; Ghana’s Rocky Dawuni, fifth; Musical duo Mariam Doumbia and Amadou Bagayoko from Mali, sixth; and presidential aspirant Youssou N’Dour of Senegal in seventh place.

Malian activist, Salif Keita is in the eighth place as Ladysmith Black Mambazo of South Africa follows in the ninth place and Cesaria Evora from Cape Verde is tenth.
