A  non governmental organization- Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA ) has said that the allegations of  anti labour policies leveled against the Director General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission Mr. Afam Ezekude by some unionists are unfounded.
HURIWA’S statement was signed jointly by the National Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National Media Affairs Director Miss Zainab Yusuf and made available to journalists over the weekend. It said that there are no bases for such tissues of lies since findings by the group found out that contrary to the fabricated allegations of running a slave camp, the NCC under the current dispensation has operated and still operates within the bounds of the Nigerian Constitution. HURIWA said it found out that those masquerading as labour union leaders within the Senior Civil service of the Federal Agency did not comply to the due process of the law by clandestinely nominating a few persons to head a union that hasn’t been properly introduced to the Senior Staff of the Nigerian Copyright Commission who by law must join the union on strictly individual and voluntary basis.
