The management of the institution cancelled the examination, saying it did not help in improving the grades of the students.
Some students who spoke on the issue said the cancellation was right, but many others were not happy with the abolition, saying it unfavourably affected them.
A mechanical engineering student, Chukwudi John, said the decision affected especially the final year students that have carry-over examinations, who, he added, have to wait for a year to collect their result.
He said some students have forfeited their results because they were unable to pay school fees for another year.
For Sheidu Suleiman of science and laboratory technology, the decision was not helpful to them, saying that they didn’t know why the academic board cancelled post-semester examination.  
He said: “The academic board should, please, bring it back because its abolition is affecting many students with carry over.”
Also, Ajisafe Sofiat of banking and finance department said the decision disadvantaged the students, urging the students’ union government to meet with the academic board with a view to having the decision reversed.
Jessica Nwobodo pleaded with the management to consider bringing post-semester examination back.
