Speaking recently at the official commissioning of the N7.5 Billion ASO Grove Estate at Maitama area of Abuja, Ayeni revealed that ASO Savings has over the years re-invented itself and positioned itself in the market with the determination to surmount the myriad of challenges facing the Nigerian housing and mortgage industries.
“The mortgage sub-sector has been fraught with difficulties but we at ASO have successfully weathered the storms over the years and have remained standing tall. I am proud to let you know that as at today, we currently have total mortgage assets of over N35 Billion and a Balance Sheet size of over N89 Billion (total assets). The successful completion of this project is a major milestone in the annals of ASO. It is a testament to what can be achieved when there is a resolve to succeed”, Ayeni stated.
Commissioning the magnificent estate, the Minister of the FCT, Abuja, Senator Bala Mohammed who was the special guest of honor at the ceremony, praised the management of ASO Savings & Loans Plc for the pivotal role it has been playing in the development of the Nigerian Housing and mortgage industries.
ASO Savings, he said, has been creating the enablement for all classes of residents of the Federal Capital Territory to get homes at affordable prizes. “We have seen ASO grow to become one of the best mortgage institutions in Nigeria. We are here today to celebrate a bank that has touched the lives of many in Nigeria and in Abuja in particular; providing shelter for us. We are to celebrate excellence on display. I thank you for inviting me here to commission this great edifice. This estate will serve as a benchmark for quality property development here in the FCT”, Senator Muhammed declared.
Giving details about the project, Mr. Hassan Musa Usman, Managing Director of ASO Savings & Loans Plc disclosed that the project cost a total sum of N7.5Billion, and that all the buildings have been sold out before completion to primary buyers.
“This project was initiated in 2011, to support the FCT Administration’s desire to provide housing for all strata of the residents of Abuja. The exclusive estate you see here is an expanse of 60 units of 5 bedroom detached duplexes with one room maid’s quarters, each exquisitely built on a 750sqm plot of land. It has modern, world class recreational facilities, including a club house, 2 gymnasiums and 2 swimming pools (one each dedicated exclusively for the use of women), two tennis courts, a squash court and a basketball court. The Estate has landscaping and sprinkler systems to preserve its aesthetics. Security has been adequately provided for with a security post manned 24/7 and CCTV coverage of the entire estate,” Musa Usman, explained.
