Suspected assailants have slaughtered a 47 year -old hunter, Wabari Ukpaka, in Chiji community in Abaji Area council of Abuja surbub.
A resident of the community, who preferred anonymity said the incident happened last Thursday, after the deceased left home around 4:p.m for hunting of bushmeat in a forest in the area.

He said the deceased parked his motorcycle in his farm and went into the forest in search of bushmeat with his locally made gun but some assailants trailed him and sliced his throat.
“The family actually waited for his return that very day he left home to hunt for bushmeat that he will use for Christmas, until Friday, evening when his decomposing corpse was later found inside the bush with his throat sliced, ” he said.
A family member of the deceased told our reporter that there was no sign of bullet wounds on the his body adding that the assailants used sharp knife to slice the deceased’s throat.
“In fact, there was no any sign of bullet wound on his body when we went in search of his body.
“We discovered when his throat was sliced and after which dragged his body and dumped where people can easily see it, ” he said.
When contacted, the spokesman of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, said the command was investigating the incident.
