The Nasarawa State House of Assembly yesterday passed a resolution asking Governor Umar Al-Makura to prosecute and sack any government official found diverting fertilizers meant for farmers.

Speaker of the House Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, who spoke in Lafia after the chairman, House Committee on Agriculture, Abubakar Kana moved a motion on the need for the House to investigate alleged cases of fertilizers diversion by government officials, said, “it is a very serious matter and we cannot sit down here to allow some unpatriotic officials diverting fertilizers of farmers in their respective communities.”

The speaker commended Al-Makura for distributing fertilizers at a subsidized rate of N4,000 per bag.
