Assembly berates building contractors who use substandard materials

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has threatened to arrest any contractor who use substandard building materials or fail to deliver quality public school projects.

Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Daniel Ogazi, who gave the warning yesterday when he led other members of the committee on site inspection visits to construction and renovation projects in Toto LGA, said the Assembly would reject the use of sub-standard building and roofing materials by any contractor and would ensure that work was done according to specifications.

“I want to use this medium to advise Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) and the contractors handling school projects against poor quality work and other sharp practices,” he said.
