Our correspondent reports that the two – member representing Okpokwu State Constituency, Anthony Agom, and that of Gwer-West, Solomon Gyila, were among four members slammed with three months suspensions.

Earlier, the four affected lawmakers – member representing Makurdi South, Douglas Akya, and the Konshisha State Constituency, Dyako Ashwa, were suspended on Monday for disrupting smooth legislative activities. But during Friday’s plenary after a motion moved by the member representing Ohimini State Constituency, Isaac Ochekilye, which was seconded by the member representing Adoka/Ugboju, Micheal Audu, the House lifted the suspension on Gyila and Agom.

Ochekilye in his motion urged the Assembly to lift the three months suspension on the four lawmakers to ensure that their constituents do not suffer and miss out on effective representation. The Speaker of the House, Aondona Dajoh, however, in his ruling noted that the decision was not personal but in the interest of the state, adding that the suspended members showed remorse.
