A professor of Animal Nutrition and Feed Toxicology at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Professor Isiaka Adewale Emiola, has advised the federal government to release fund for animal farmers to enhance meat production.
He said policy makers should pay more attention to research and enact enabling policies that are animal agriculture-friendly.
The university teacher advocated that the federal government should release more funds for farmers to enable them feed their animals with good foods, which will result to good production.
The don, who gave the advice during the institution’s 47 inaugural lecture, said government agencies such as the Nigeria Institute of Animal Science, should be allowed to coordinate and work closely with other relevant agencies.
