Assist us to serve residents better, Ambode tells civil servants

The Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Abode, has urged civil servants in the state to put into action knowledge and skills they have acquired through training and re-training exercises aimed at making them serve residents of the state better.

Ambode made the call at a training programme, tagged, ‘Public Procurement in a Depressed Economy: Emerging Issues and Challenges, organised by the State Ministry of Establishments, Training and Pension for civil servants in Lagos.

According to Ambode, who was represented by the Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pension Establishments, Dr Akintola Benson Oke, civil servants were like customer care officers who must be willing to meet the yearnings and aspirations of their customers.

“Officers of the Lagos State public service must always be able to see how any procurement action or decision affects every part of the service and its service offerings,” the governor said.
