President of PASAN Comrade Fatai Jimoh made the call when he addressed the 6th National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the union, held in Abuja over the weekend.
Jimoh appealed to “the management of the National Assembly to, as a matter of urgency, effect payment of 15 percent deducted staff pension contribution into staff pension account should be done without further delay.”
“The same applies to the remittance of the 1 percent check-off dues from staff salaries into the National Account of PASAN as directed by Law.” He added.
Comrade Jimoh also announced the return of the Executive Committee of the National Assembly chapter of the union into the national body, which he said is in line with the resolution the NEC meeting held in Asaba, Delta State in 2011.
He urged the leadership of the National Assembly to accelerate their intervention in the crisis at the Rivers State House of Assembly to enable the payment of salaries for their members who are suffering.
