Association urges Jigawa divorcees to join union

Association of divorcees in Jigawa has started campaigning for registration of women who separated from their husbands in the state with a view to having a common voice and working under one umbrella.

Chairperson of the association, Hadiza Suleman, who made this known yesterday in Buji local government area, said she was at the LGA as part of consultation for ensuring that all divorcees in the state were under one umbralla to enable them benefit directly from the policies and programmes of the government.

“If we do not come together and form a common front, we will be lagging behind. This is the reason for enlightening the divorcees to register with us for the purpose of pursuing a common goal.

“If we are not united, even if government wants to assist us, it will be difficult to do so effectively. This is the reason why we are touring the state to ensure all divorcees register with us.”
