The chairman of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities, Nasarawa State University chapter, Dr. Theophilus Lagi, has said the allegation that there are invisible forces instigating the union to embark on strike was not true.
Speaking to newsmen in Keffi after the union’s congress, Dr. Lagi explained that the demands raised by the union before the commencement of the strike were germane.
He said the university laws are faulty; the promotion guideline had a lot of ambiguity as pointed out by the ASUU.
He alleged that there were some principal officers of the university who have spent more than 8 years in office as against the four-year renewable term.
