The ongoing indefinite strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has disrupted examinations, lectures and other academic activities at the Kaduna State University (KASU).

The students who are at the receiving end described the action of the lecturers as well as the attitude of the Federal Government towards academic issues as unfair.

They said if care is not taken, Nigerian tertiary education will be totally destroyed by incessant strike actions.

The lecturers had accused of the Federal Government of failure to fulfil the terms of an agreement it reached with the union since 2009.

Our reporter who visited KASU observed normal activity from the entrance of the school with movement of students, vehicles and tricycles among others.

Inside the school premises, students were also seen moving around as usual in different faculties but academic activities did not hold.

 Students brought from Kafanchan campus to Kaduna due to the insecurity in the area could not write their examination as a result of the ongoing strike action while others who are not writing examination could not have lectures because some of the faculties were locked up.
