The organised labour says its members will resist any plot to plant moles in its midst during a nationwide protest scheduled to hold on Tuesday and Wednesday over the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
Speaking Thursday at a meeting with Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, NLC General Secretary, Emmanuel Ugboajah, said: “Infiltrators would not be allowed to participate in the protest. We’ll resist every attempt to hijack the protest by moles who may likely be planted.”

Ngige alerted the labour leaders to the security implications of the planned protest, noting that the government’s concern was that politicians might cash in on the rally to wreak havoc in the country.
He said the masses might wrongly interpret the rally as a ploy by the NLC to enhance the chances of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
He sad this could spur the supporters of the other political parties into violence.
“I heard when you said you’re mobilising for the Labour Party. But a trade union is not a political party. Look at the Trade Union Act. It doesn’tallow trade unions to use their contributions to support any political party.”
