The chief executive officer of Internet Solutions, Olusola Teniola, has emerged the new national president of the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON).
He was elected during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and national executive council elections held in Lagos on Wednesday.
In his acceptance speech, Teniola said he would focus attention on six core areas during his tenure.
These, he said, would include strategic and purposeful engagement with all tiers of government; collaboration with NCC, NITDA and other related MDAs; protection of telecom investment in Nigeria; expanding the scope of Communication Business Information Technology Exhibition and Conference (ComBIT Expo); redefining ATCONNews ThisWeek and strengthening the secretariat of the association through partnership.
He said, “We want to further encourage harmonious relationship which would impact positively on the general wellbeing of our members as well as Nigerians.”
