Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is attending the rally organized by the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Yola.
The on going rally which attracted thousands of APC supporters is also graced by dignitaries including the National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Danjuma Goje, Ahmad Sani Yarima Bakura, Muhammadu Koiranga Jada, Nuhu Ribadu, Buba Marwa and Engineer Marcus Gundiri.
A statement circulated by the organisers quoted Atiku Abubakar decrying the failure of leadership in the country under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),saying he has decided to join the APC and help it to win elections.
“This is what I have decided to do, I will do all withim my God-given power to help the APC win elections all over Nigeria and bring true change to our country and its long suffering people”, the statement reads.
Thousands of supporters have trooped to Ribadu Square, the venue of the rally which is located in Jimeta-Yola.
A source told Daily Trust that Buhari was absent at the rally because he had to attend a medical check up.
