The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saturday’s presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has defeated his closest rival, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a margin of 184, 460 votes.
In the final results released early this morning, Atiku polled 334, 923 votes to beat Buhari who got 140, 463 votes.
According to the Returning Officer, Prof. Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, Atiku won in 25 of the 27 local government areas, while both incumbent Governor Rochas Okorocha and Hope Uzodinma, delivered their Ideato South and Oru east local government areas, respectively to APC.
According to the collated results, Imo has 2, 037, 565 registered voters with total number of accredited voters given ad 585, 741. Total number of valid votes cast was 511, 586 while total number of votes cast was 542, 777 and rejected votes was 31, 191
