Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo, has clapped back at a critic after he was bashed for performing at Atiku Abubakar’s presidential declaration.
On Wednesday 23rd March 2022, the former Vice President declared his intention to run for the office of the presidency in the oncoming election in 2023. The event which was held in Abuja had Dakolo perform one of his hits, Great Nation, and this sparked a lot of mixed reactions from Nigerian tweeps.

The singer who was accused of endorsing Atiku clapped back at a fan and told him that he will sing and make his money and if it pained him, he should sing his own song.
The Instagram user, @olaolu_thaniel commented on the singer’s official Instagram page and said, “They have started singing in political rallies ohhh @timidakolo is live at Abuja international conference centre singing and endorsing PDP’s Atiku. Let it be known that @timidakolo endorsed Atiku.”(sic)
Timi clapped back and said, “I will sing and collect bread my Guy, if it pains you well well, go sing your own.”
