Former vice president Atiku Abubakari who founded the school, will speak with alumnai directly for the first time ever at an interactive session in this homecoming, said Abubakar Radda, the alumni coordinating the homecoming.
“It is high time we came together as brothers and sisters fathered by our esteemed university, to celebrate and remember the good times, the rough times, and share what we all are doing,” he said in a statement signed by Dan Okereke, AUN’s executive director for communications.
“We will also share ideas on how to contribute towards the building of a better institution for us all and for the future of our nation.”
Executive Director, Dorsey Spencer, said with the homecoming, “we are trying to build a sense of belonging, a sense of passion and pride for one’s institution.”
AUN’s homecoming started Monday with a photo contest but the week will see academic engagement lectures, variety shows, career mixer, after-parties, and an alumni dinner.
The six-day homecoming will also cover pageant, basketball, football and polo.
